VISUAL THINKING

Javier de Miguel did a good work in his master class in Visual Thinking because before his class I didn't know about the impact that visual thinking has nowadays, and now I do. I've learnt that colours and other stuff help us to underline the main idea or the most important information and this could be very useful in my daily life.

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY

This time, we've watched some videos of basic photography, to afterwarads take two different pictures. The first one is with a small Depth of Field and the other one with a slow shutter speed.




I took this picture some years ago in Vielha, Val d'Aran. It is a nice picture which reflects perfectly the depth of field.



I took this picture when I was going back home from training. I took it in the car while my mum was driving, it is the sunset of Zurriola beach and there we can see a man walking by.

VIVIAN MAIER

The last project we've done it has been an oral presentation about a photographer.
At first, the teacher gave us the name of a photographer but we didn't like it, his pictures were not nice at allso we asked him if we could change

Ane, my partner, and I talked about Vivian Maier; an American street photographer.

LETTERING

In the last class, the teacher asked us to write "welcome" in different languages which are spoken in our school, and they had to be writen in different fonts. For that, the teacher showed us a video of different types of hand-lettering, but as  I am a very bad drawer, my  lettering was so ugly.

Lettering is very important in marketing, each brand, each shop, each restaurant... has its own font, to show that, I took three different pictures of different logos as the teacher asked.

 

This picture shows the Adidas logo. It's a sport brand and its lettering is very round and simple giving a sportive impression.

This one is very different to the previous one. Casio is a calculator brand. Its lettering is simple but very technical and its shape is more alike to a square.

   As you can see, this last picture is of a Swedish backpack brand. It has the logo of a fox. The lettering is a kind of European lettering, very clean and round.

MASS MEDIA

The mass media is a diversified collection of media technologies that reach a large audience via mass comunication.

The tools I use most of mass media are:

• The TV:  every night my parents watch the news in the TV. They usually watch the etb1 channel. Etb1 is the first TV channel of Euskal Telebista, the free channel from the Basque Country.

• The newspaper:  my father reads the newspaper in the computer; he reads different types of newspapers, such as Gara, Diario Vasco... They both are bilingual newspapers, writen in Basque and in Spanish. 

• Internet:  I use the internet for many things, to look for information, for social media like instagram.

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

For the European day of languages, in French class, we prepared some questions to play a game against the other class. This game consisted in asking questions about languages, places... and the team which scored most points won. It was an entertaining game and we enjoyed it.

PLANNING THE EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

Hello we are Ane and Enara,

The next 26th September we are celebrating the European day of languages. There are about 275 languages in Europe; many of them are in danger of  disappearing, that is why each country should encourage their citizens to speak the traditional language of the region.

In our opinion, nowadays it's essential to know more than a language as it makes life easier:

• Jobs: there are more chances of being hired if you are multilingual, this way you can negotiate with other businesses.

• Travel: you can go anywhere without problems to communicate with the locals.

• It's also positive to increase your knowledge and get to know other cultures.

To celebrate this big day we will record a video where we say a sentence in different languages and we will do a homage to Europe.

FIRST TERM

Hello,

I'm Enara and this year I joined an audio-visual culture club at school. In this subject, I want to improve and practice my English. I would love to travel somewhere in Europe and do an exchange with another student from another country, it would be a very nice experience. I also expect this subject will help me to get my first certification.
