POLITICAL MARKETING

This time the teacher has asked us to analyze three different political posters.

This is PSOE's poster. We can see a picture of Pedro Sánchez in black and white, and there is the slogan "haz que pase"which means "make it happen" over his face, in red.
I think that slogan means that if you vote him,  he will make a better Spain.
He won the elections.

This is Unidas Podemos's poster. It has a purple back and in the middle it is written "Unidas podemos" using a heart instead of using an A.
The slogan means that if we all gather together we can make a better place.

This is PP's poster. Here we can see a white back and Pablo Casado. There is their slogan "Valor seguro" written above him. I'm not sure about its meaning, I don't really understand it.

My opinion: my favorite slogans are the first and the second. They are strong and very direct, whereas the last one is not a very direct slogan, but it is still strong.

RADIO PROGRAMME

This time the teacher has asked us to make an analysis of our favorite band or musician. I've chosen Beyoncé, and her song "Run the world".

  • Beyonce Giselle Knowles- Carter was born in the 4th September, 1981 in Houston, Texas.
  • She is a singer, songwriter, actress, director, record producer and a dancer.
  • She rose to fame in the late 1990s as lead singer of the R&B girl-group Destiny's Child, which became one of the best-selling girl groups in history
  • She released her first solo album, Dangerously in Love in 2003.
  • Throughout her career, Beyoncé has sold over 100 million records worldwide as a solo artist, and a further 60 million records with Destiny's Childaking her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
  • She is a multi-platinum, Grammy-Award-winning recording artist, who is acclaimed for her thrilling vocals, videos, and live concert shows.
  • She is married with Jay-Z, and has 3 children Blue ivy Carter, Rumi Carter and Sir Carter.

  • "Run the world" was realesed in April 2011.
  • It was recorded in MSR Studios (New York City)
  • The song's development was motivated by Beyoncé wanting to do something different: a mixture of different cultures and eras, a new sound, and a message which would give women strength.
  • The song's title and lyrics comprise an unapologetically aggressive message promoting female empowerment.
  • "Run the World" initially divided critics; some complimented the song's sample, its musical direction, and Beyoncé's aggressiveness, while others criticized the continuation of past themes and stated that they wanted to see Beyoncé covering new topics.
  • The single peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming her lowest performing lead single to date, and reached the top 10 in Australia, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and Scotland.
  • "Run the World" was a top 20 hit in Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
  • The song's accompanying music video was directed by Francis Lawrence and was filmed in California over a three-day span. The video won Best Choreography at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards and Best Dance Performance at the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards.
  • Run the World" is an electropop and R&B song. Jocelyn Vena of MTV News described the song as a "club banger" and "female empowerment/girl power type of song".

  • The video begins with Beyoncé riding a black horse over an open, deserted plain. As the horse lifts off the ground, scenes of Beyoncé standing atop a ruined vehicle are shown, as she leads a large army of women.
  • Additional scenery includes a large bull in the middle of the battleground and a large banner featuring an African themed drawing of Beyoncé. A woman seemingly nailed on a cross is later seen. As several scantily clad women are shown, a SWAT team of men charge towards the battlefield as a sample from Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor" is played.
  • As the male forces arrive, Beyoncé, is wearing a large golden helm and is surrounded by a lion, a large group of women prepared for battle and banners featuring Beyoncé insignia.
  • As the song begins, Beyoncé removes her armor and confronts the male army, engaging in a series of shoulder-thrusting dance routines.
  • Beyoncé dances seductively towards the men as scenes of Beyoncé wearing several outfits are seen, the first of which is a white evening gown as she grasps the chains of two chained hyenas. As the confrontation escalates, Beyoncé appears next to several flaming vehicles, and she undergoes another costume change.
  • Returning to the main plot, the video shows Beyoncé in front of a small group of her female army, wearing a yellow ensemble and black heeled-boots.
  •  As the dancing commences, scenes of the two clashing armies are seen while Beyoncé writhes in sand. The females, now an even larger group, are shown dancing, using powerful and emphatic movements, in front of the male army with alternating costumes and several flags in the background.
  •  The video ends with the front line of females confronting the men face to face, raising their right arms and saluting to them as Beyoncé rips off the male general's badge, placing it on herself.
PERSONAL OPINION

I love this song. I think Beyonce is one of the best singers and composers in the world, I love her work and in my opinion she is a very inspiring woman.  There are many other songs I love, but finally I chose this one.

ARTS OR SCIENCE

This time the teacher has asked us to record an audio about the differences about studying arts and scienses.

For that, first of all we are writing our ideas down:

  • In my opinion, both of them should have the same importance
  • But I think arts are easier to study
  • Those who study arts have usually more facilities, as they do applied maths; whereas those who study science have to study some arts subjects (literature).
  • Schools should provide more choices when it comes to school subjects, many of us study useless things.
  • Those who study science shouldn’t study literature for example, and in case they wanted to, it should be an option but not an obligation.

SECOND TERM EVALUATION

This second term I've worked so hard. We've been doing many oral presentations, and as I always do I tried to do my best in all of them. The teacher hasn't put me the mark I thought I deserved, I might have done something he didn't like; I'll try to do it better next term. On top of that, my blog is completed with the entries. We also did the heritage video which took us much time to do it in the right way.

SONG VIDEO

This time, the teacher has asked us to choose a song and get into the mood to create a video. We have chosen "On The Way Home" song by John Mayer, we thought that it would be a good idea to record our juorny from school to home as the song talks about a journey and transmits a home-loving feeling.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE

This time the teacher has asked us to do an essay about our favourite film. I don't really have a favourite film because I usually watch series, but I've chosen the film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

A wild stallion is captured by humans and slowly loses the will to resist training, yet, throughout his struggles for freedom, the stallion refuses to let go of the hope of one day returning home to his herd.

This film was directed by Kelly Asbury and LornaCook, and it was written by John Fusco and Michael Lucker. It is located on the XIXth century in the American Frontier in the Wild West.

I really like this film, its lovely story makes you get hooked on it.

HERITAGE SHOOTING

This time the teacher asked us to make a video during the christmas holdays about our culture. My group and I have decided to focus on a traditional festive day of our city: "Santo Tomas". We've tried to show the traditions and habitual things that we do on that day such as visit the animals and eat our special food called "talo". But the most special thing we do this day is dress up as the old basque people; here an example:

FINAL PRESENTATION

  1. RAVIOLIS STUFFED WITH KRISSIA (Optional: mayonese).
  2. It’s easy to prepare as you have two dishes in one and you don’t have to worry about cooking first and second plate. Apart from that this new formula is healthy and appealing for children.
  3. The weaknesses are that our idea is not very original, neither risky.
  4. We need to do business with pasta companies to make our product, because it isn’t enough with krissia.
  5. The challenge’s aim is to target a young public and we think we have met their expectations introducing our innovative formula which is raviolis stuffed with krissia. We thought that pasta is the most liked food of children, that is why we mixed these two flavours.
  6. We will need machines to make our product because if we do it by hand it will take a lot of time.
  7. Because it is appealing for children and we think that we have reached to the aim of the challenge that was introducing fish to children diet.

A PICTURE FROM ANTIGUO

This is a picture from Antiguo, in the Matia Street.

LA DOLCE VITA

“La Dolce Vita” was made in 1960 in Italy. It was directed by Federico Fellini and produced by Giuseppe Amato and Angelo Rizzoli.
This film is consisdered one of the best films ever made. It was first published in the Cannes Film Festival where it came up being the winner of the  Palma d’Or in 1960. In the very same year, it also won the Oscar Prize for its best costumes.

The main characters are Marcello Mastroiann (Marcello Rubini), Anita Ekberg (Sylvia), Anouk Aimée (Maddalena), Yvonne Furenaux (Emma), Magali Noël (Fanny), Alain Cuny (Steiner)…
The theme of this story is a journalist’s life called Marcello. He has a girlfriend, Emma, and even though in the beginning of the film looks like he cares a little bit for her, he cheats on her several times with different women. He also meets with his father after being long time without seeing each other.

Regarding to my favourite scene of the movie, I liked it when Sylvia and Marcello got into the water of Fontana Di Trevi. Sylvia got impressed by the beautiful look of the huge fountain and that is what pushed her to get in there; she did not have to insist very much to make Marcello join her. It is a nice scene and I am sure it was funny to record it.

I do not really mind about the actors, and although especially I do not have any favourite one, from my point of view, they were all okay. As far as the film, I have seen better ones comparing to this one. It does not have a plot, neither a conflict to resolve, and the story is developped not just without any purpose, but also too sowly. In fact, it is well recorded and the music is suitable for each moment.
I’m not sure about what I have learned and I think it is in the list because it is a historical movie and a very succesful one.
